Advanced Micro Devices reported a record third quarter on Tuesday, November 3, as demand for data-center processors and AI accelerators drove revenue well above the year-earlier level. The company said in its AMD Investor Relations release that revenue for the quarter ended September 26 reached 13.377 billion US dollars, up 45 percent from the same period last year.

AMD stock traded at 421.13 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 13:00 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2.41 percent below the Xetra close of Wednesday, November 4. The real-time quote of AMD stock gives investors the latest trading reference.

Data Center drives the earnings jump

The Data Center segment generated record revenue of 8.546 billion US dollars, an increase of 97 percent from the third quarter of 2025. AMD attributed the performance to strong demand for fifth-generation EPYC server processors and the launch of Instinct MI450 Series graphics processors. Data Center revenue represented the clear majority of group sales, reinforcing the company's shift toward AI infrastructure.

Client and Gaming revenue fell 8 percent to 3.722 billion US dollars. Client sales rose 7 percent, helped by Ryzen mobile processors, while gaming revenue declined 40 percent to 773 million US dollars. Embedded revenue increased 29 percent to 1.109 billion US dollars, supported by aerospace and defense, automotive, communications and industrial markets.

GAAP diluted earnings per share rose to 1.46 US dollars from 0.75 US dollars a year earlier. Non-GAAP diluted earnings per share reached 2.09 US dollars, up 74 percent, while non-GAAP gross margin improved to 56 percent from 54 percent. The difference between the measures reflects AMD's adjustments for items including stock-based compensation, acquisition-related amortization and other costs.

Management sets a demanding outlook

AMD expects fourth-quarter revenue of approximately 17 billion US dollars, with a range of plus or minus 3 percent. The midpoint would represent about 66 percent year-over-year growth and a sequential increase of about 27 percent. Management expects non-GAAP gross margin of approximately 55 percent.

Chief Executive Lisa Su said demand for Instinct and EPYC products continued to strengthen and that growth should accelerate as AMD scales Helios and Venice production. That outlook places greater weight on supply execution, customer adoption and the pace of AI infrastructure investment. It also leaves the Client and Gaming business as a relative counterweight while Data Center becomes the dominant growth engine.
