- Third-quarter property revenue grew as data center demand supported operating performance.
- Management raised its full-year property-revenue outlook while lowering net-income expectations because of unrealized equity losses.
- The board expanded the share-repurchase authorization, adding a capital-allocation option for investors.
American Tower reported third-quarter results on October 27, 2026, and raised its full-year outlook for property revenue. The company said data center performance and consistent leasing demand across its global tower portfolio supported the update, according to Nasdaq.
Data center momentum lifts outlook
Total revenue increased 2.5 percent to USD 2.785 billion in the quarter ended September 30. Property revenue rose 4.5 percent to USD 2.734 billion, with data center cash revenue up 16.3 percent.
American Tower raised the midpoint of its 2026 property-revenue outlook by USD 55 million. The data center segment outlook implies 16.1 percent midpoint growth, while adjusted EBITDA guidance was unchanged.
Net income fell 14.4 percent to USD 781 million. The company attributed the comparison in part to unrealized losses on equity investments, which contrasted with unrealized gains in the year-earlier quarter. AFFO attributable to common stockholders increased 2.4 percent to USD 1.335 billion.
Buyback expands capital options
The board authorized an additional USD 2 billion for share repurchases on October 23. American Tower had already repurchased about 1.8 million shares for USD 315 million during the third quarter, giving investors a clearer view of management's capital-allocation priorities.
