Baker Hughes announced on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, that third-quarter orders rose 31 percent year over year to 10.8 billion US dollars. The energy technology company said demand for data centers, LNG equipment and gas infrastructure supported its Industrial & Energy Technology business.
The company reported revenue of 8.025 billion US dollars for the quarter ended September 30, up 14 percent from a year earlier. Attributable net income fell 33 percent to 411 million US dollars, while adjusted net income increased 2 percent to 695 million US dollars. Adjusted diluted earnings per share were 0.70 US dollars, compared with 0.68 US dollars a year earlier.
Industrial orders widen visibility
IET generated 5.886 billion US dollars of orders, 42 percent more than in the third quarter of 2025. The segment's book-to-bill ratio was 1.7, while total company book-to-bill was 1.3. IET revenue rose 3 percent to 3.477 billion US dollars, and segment EBITDA increased 8 percent to 685 million US dollars.
Baker Hughes ended the quarter with remaining performance obligations of 46.4 billion US dollars. IET accounted for a record 39.4 billion US dollars, giving the company greater visibility into future revenue, although conversion depends on project execution, capacity expansion and customer schedules.
Management raised full-year IET order guidance to between 21.5 billion and 23.5 billion US dollars. It also lifted the Horizon 2 outlook for 2026 through 2028 to more than 50 billion US dollars. The company linked the stronger outlook to broad demand across data-center power, LNG, gas infrastructure, offshore production and industrial markets.
Chart acquisition adds scale
The results included the contribution from Chart Industries, which Baker Hughes acquired on July 16. Chart generated 831 million US dollars of orders, 888 million US dollars of revenue and 156 million US dollars of EBITDA during the period covered by the quarter. Baker Hughes said the integration was progressing and that the combination expands its installed base and aftermarket opportunities.
The company also highlighted a 1.1-gigawatt power-generation order for a major US technology company and a further order representing about 500 megawatts for AI infrastructure. Other awards covered LNG, compressor systems, offshore production and industrial sensing.
