- SUPREME-02 complements the ongoing SUPREME-01 study in Caliway's pivotal development program.
- CBL-0206 continues enrolling participants in Taiwan and Australia.
- Preclinical combination data are scheduled for presentation at ObesityWeek in Washington, D.C.
Caliway Biopharmaceuticals said on October 29 that enrollment had begun in SUPREME-02, its second global pivotal Phase 3 trial for investigational drug candidate CBL-514. The company described the study as a multinational test of CBL-514 for reducing abdominal subcutaneous fat. The announcement is available in the Caliway announcement.
Second pivotal study underway
SUPREME-02 is designed as a randomized, double-blind and placebo-controlled trial. Caliway expects to enroll approximately 320 participants across 30 to 35 sites in the United States, Canada and Australia.
The study will assess efficacy, safety and tolerability through patient-reported and clinician-reported evaluations, supported by imaging assessments including magnetic resonance imaging. It complements SUPREME-01, which is already ongoing. Together, the trials are intended to generate clinical evidence for potential future regulatory submissions.
Regional program continues
Caliway also said that CBL-0206, a Phase 2 study, continues to enroll participants in Taiwan and Australia. The company expects the regional program to expand clinical data in Asian populations and support future regulatory, commercialization and partnering plans.
For investors, the start of enrollment broadens the late-stage development program but does not establish clinical efficacy or approval. The next relevant milestones are recruitment progress, trial execution and the eventual release of controlled study results.
Combination data due in November
Caliway plans to present preclinical data at ObesityWeek 2026 in Washington, D.C., on November 15. The presentation will examine CBL-514 in combination with semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, and eloralintide, an amylin receptor agonist, with a focus on weight reduction and post-treatment weight regain.
Broader developments in Taiwan can be followed through current TAIEX market reports.
