Quarterly results reshape the outlook

  • Management expects full-year adjusted EBITDA below the previously communicated range and plans to discuss its 2027 framework with fourth-quarter results.
  • Cost actions now target more than 150 million US dollars in annualized savings, while Good Sam Services and Plans expanded its gross margin.

Camping World Holdings reported a difficult third quarter on November 2, with revenue and profitability pressured by weaker RV demand, lower vehicle volumes and margin compression. The company also accelerated its cost-reduction program as it prepared for a more cautious market environment.

In its third-quarter results release, Camping World said revenue for the period ended September 30, 2026, fell 12.4 percent year over year to 1.58 billion US dollars. The company reported a net loss of 320.1 million US dollars, including a 286.7 million US dollar noncash goodwill impairment charge related to its RV and Outdoor Retail reporting unit.

Vehicle volumes and margins weaken

New vehicle revenue declined 16.7 percent to 638.9 million US dollars, while new vehicle unit sales fell 25.4 percent to 15,126. Used vehicle revenue decreased 12.0 percent to 518.5 million US dollars, with unit sales down 8.1 percent to 17,176.

New vehicle gross margin contracted to 10.2 percent from 12.7 percent a year earlier. Camping World attributed the pressure primarily to a higher average cost per new vehicle, despite an 11.7 percent increase in the average selling price. Adjusted EBITDA fell 62.4 percent to 36.0 million US dollars and included a 12.7 million US dollar unfavorable adjustment for finance and insurance chargeback liabilities.

Cost program becomes central focus

Management said the efficiency program now represents more than 150 million US dollars in anticipated annualized savings. Fourth-quarter selling, general and administrative expenses are expected to decline by more than 50 million US dollars year over year.

Camping World expects full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA to come in below the lower end of its previously communicated 230 million to 270 million US dollar range. The company is not providing additional full-year guidance and plans to outline its 2027 framework alongside its fourth-quarter results.
