Coca-Cola stock: Global volume growth lifts 2026 outlook

Coca-Cola stock reflects stronger global demand and a higher 2026 outlook. Flat North American volume remains a key watchpoint for investors.

What matters for investors

  • Coca-Cola raised its 2026 comparable earnings and free cash flow outlook after a stronger third quarter.
  • Global volume growth remained broad, while North American volume was flat and away-from-home demand stayed under pressure.
  • Management will provide its full-year 2027 outlook with fourth-quarter results.

The Coca-Cola Company reported stronger-than-expected momentum in the third quarter ended October 2, 2026, and raised its full-year outlook. In its October 27 earnings release, the beverage maker said net revenue rose 7 percent to 13.4 billion US dollars. Organic revenue, a non-GAAP measure, also increased 7 percent.

Global unit case volume grew 5 percent, led by India, China, Mexico and Brazil. Trademark Coca-Cola volume rose 5 percent, while Coca-Cola Zero Sugar advanced 16 percent across the geographic operating segments. Comparable earnings per share increased 11 percent to 0.91 US dollars, while reported earnings per share rose 8 percent to 0.93 US dollars.

North America remains the weak spot

The regional picture was mixed. North American revenue increased 3 percent and organic revenue also rose 3 percent, but unit case volume was unchanged. Growth in Trademark Coca-Cola was offset by declines in water, sports, coffee and tea. The company said it gained value share in total nonalcoholic ready-to-drink beverages in the region, supported by gains in juice, value-added dairy, plant-based beverages and Trademark Coca-Cola.

Management attributed the broader quarter to continued execution across the global system. Chief Executive Henrique Braun said the results showed sustained momentum and supported confidence in the updated full-year guidance. The company also pointed to pricing actions, although unfavorable product mix partly offset the benefit.

Higher targets set for 2026

Coca-Cola now expects full-year organic revenue growth of at least 5 percent, compared with approximately 5 percent previously. Comparable currency-neutral earnings per share excluding acquisitions and divestitures are expected to grow at least 9 percent, up from the prior range of 7 to 8 percent. Comparable earnings per share are now expected to increase at least 11 percent, versus the previous range of 9 to 10 percent.

The company also lifted its free cash flow target to at least 13.0 billion US dollars from approximately 12.4 billion US dollars. The revised outlook includes a slight currency tailwind, acquisition and divestiture effects, six fewer days in the fourth quarter and expected slight destocking. Coca-Cola said it will provide full-year 2027 guidance when it reports fourth-quarter earnings.

What the outlook means for the stock

The raised targets give investors evidence that global demand and pricing are offsetting softer volume in the company's largest regional market. The main near-term risk is whether North American volume can recover as restaurant and other away-from-home consumption remains pressured. Continued gains in zero-sugar products and emerging markets could support growth, but currency, input costs and portfolio changes remain relevant to reported results.
