- Crédit Agricole reported higher quarterly revenue, strong profitability and controlled credit risk.
- Germany, digital savings and artificial intelligence are central to the European growth strategy.
- Capital strength gives management room to pursue strategic initiatives while credit provisions remain an investor focus.
Crédit Agricole reported strong third-quarter and nine-month results on Friday, October 30, 2026, while adding fresh detail on its European expansion and financial capacity. The official results release said revenue rose 7.5 percent and return on tangible equity reached 14.2 percent.
Strong results support strategic flexibility
Crédit Agricole Group's CET1 ratio stood at 17.3 percent at the end of September, while Crédit Agricole S.A. reported a ratio of 11.2 percent. Group liquidity reserves reached 491 billion euros. The bank also said it had acquired 8 million new customers since the start of 2026.
The operating backdrop was mixed. Loan production remained strong in Italy, while French mortgage lending slowed and the automotive market continued to weigh on mobility-related activities. Credit risk remained under control, with the group reporting a cost of risk of 31 basis points on outstanding loans.
Europe remains the growth priority
Management is advancing the ACT 2028 plan through the launch of CA Deutschland, the continued rollout of CA Savings and the proposed acquisition of IKB Deutsche Industriebank. The IKB transaction would expand the bank's position among German Mittelstand companies and is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
Crédit Agricole also launched CA Capital Naturel and CA Artificial Intelligence, while continuing partnerships with Mistral and Prisme.ai. These initiatives broaden the strategic agenda beyond traditional banking, but investors will continue to watch whether expansion adds earnings without raising capital pressure or credit costs.
Credit Agricole stock traded at 15.01 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:14:37 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
