Drägerwerk stock faces Q3 profit setback as 2026 outlook holds

- Nine-month sales rose 5.3 percent and EBIT reached EUR 111.8 million.
- Third-quarter EBIT fell as higher functional expenses outweighed modest sales growth.
- Drägerwerk kept its 2026 sales-growth and EBIT-margin targets unchanged.
Drägerwerk reported a mixed third quarter on October 14, 2026, with sales growth but lower operating profit. The company later published the figures in its quarterly reporting, while the Deutsche Börse EQS release said the 2026 forecast remained in place.
Drägerwerk's sales increased 1.0 percent on a currency-adjusted basis to EUR 850.8 million in the third quarter. EBIT declined to EUR 48.0 million from EUR 56.7 million a year earlier, and the EBIT margin narrowed to 5.6 percent from 6.8 percent. The company attributed the pressure to slower sales growth and a disproportionate increase in functional expenses against a strong prior-year comparison.
Nine-Month Growth Hides Cost Pressure
For the first nine months, currency-adjusted sales rose 5.3 percent to EUR 2.454 billion, while EBIT increased to EUR 111.8 million from EUR 77.1 million. The EBIT margin improved to 4.6 percent from 3.3 percent. Order intake climbed 3.6 percent to EUR 2.674 billion, giving the company a stronger revenue base despite the softer quarterly profit trend.
One-off customs refunds contributed EUR 27.9 million to nine-month EBIT, including EUR 20.1 million in the third quarter. The refunds supported reported profitability, so the underlying operating trend remains important for investors as the company approaches the final quarter.
Safety Demand Outpaces Medical Orders
The safety division provided the strongest operational support. Nine-month safety sales rose 6.5 percent to EUR 1.087 billion, while order intake increased 13.1 percent. Medical sales grew 4.4 percent to EUR 1.367 billion, but medical order intake declined 3.5 percent, partly because the prior-year period included a large Mexican hospital-infrastructure order.
Drägerwerk kept its 2026 guidance for currency-adjusted sales growth of 2.0 to 6.0 percent and an EBIT margin of 6.0 to 8.0 percent. The target leaves execution in the fourth quarter central to the margin outcome, particularly because customs refunds are not a recurring operating driver.
