Eaton reported record third-quarter results on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, as demand for electrical infrastructure and aerospace products drove sales above the company's previous outlook. The Eaton earnings release covers the quarter ended September 30.

Sales rose 28 percent year over year to a record 8.947 billion US dollars. Organic growth contributed 19 percent, acquisitions added 8 percent and foreign exchange contributed 1 percent. Reported diluted earnings per share were 2.77 US dollars, while adjusted earnings per share reached a record 3.68 US dollars after excluding acquisition and divestiture charges, restructuring effects and intangible amortization.

Orders support the growth cycle

Segment margins reached a record 25.3 percent, 30 basis points above both the upper end of the previous range and the year-earlier level. Electrical Americas delivered 22 percent organic growth, while its margin improved to 29.8 percent. Electrical Global grew 27 percent organically, supported by the Boyd Thermal acquisition, and its backlog increased 121 percent from a year earlier.

Across the Electrical businesses, the rolling twelve-month book-to-bill ratio remained 1.2. Organic orders increased 39 percent in Electrical Americas, 51 percent in Electrical Global and 20 percent in Aerospace. Eaton said Electrical backlog rose 46 percent year over year and Aerospace backlog increased 33 percent, pointing to continued demand for capacity and power infrastructure.

Guidance moves higher

Eaton raised its full-year 2026 organic-growth outlook to 13 to 15 percent and expects adjusted earnings per share of 13.70 to 13.80 US dollars. Fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share are forecast at 4.05 to 4.15 US dollars, with organic growth also expected at 13 to 15 percent.

The company also agreed to acquire COL Group for 810 million euros. The Italian medium-voltage distribution specialist is expected to strengthen Eaton's European manufacturing and power-distribution footprint, subject to customary approvals and an expected first-quarter 2027 closing.
