- EDP Transmissão Goiás secured a regulated transmission project in Goiás and Bahia.
- The project includes a new substation, transmission lines and a 48-month construction schedule.
- EDP is due to publish its nine-month results on November 5, followed by an investor webcast on November 6.
EDP Transmissão Goiás won Lot 2 in Brazil's Transmission Auction No. 4/2026 on October 30, adding a regulated grid project to EDP's South American portfolio. The award covers infrastructure in Goiás and Bahia and is expected to require 317 million reais in investment, according to Brazil's electricity regulator ANEEL.
Transmission award expands Brazilian platform
The project comprises the Iaciara 2 substation, with 230/138 kilovolt equipment and 300 megavolt-amperes of transformation capacity. It also includes 126 kilometers of transmission lines linking Iaciara and Guarani de Goiás in Goiás with Correntina in Bahia.
ANEEL said the facilities are intended to strengthen electricity service in northeastern Goiás. The construction period is set at 48 months, and the regulator estimates the project could create 792 jobs. Commercial operation is expected after the construction phase and the required contractual steps.
EDP Transmissão Goiás offered annual permitted revenue of 26.53 million reais for the lot. That bid represented a 53.29 percent discount to ANEEL's initial permitted revenue ceiling of 56.8 million reais. The permitted revenue becomes payable for transmission service once the installations enter commercial operation.
Results now move into focus
The auction award comes shortly before EDP's next financial update. The company says on its investor relations page that it will release nine-month 2026 results on November 5. A webcast presentation is scheduled for November 6 at 8:30 a.m. UK and Lisbon time.
The combination of regulated transmission revenue and ongoing clean-energy investment gives investors a further operating milestone to assess alongside the upcoming results. The auction award itself adds future infrastructure commitments, while the revenue profile will depend on construction, commissioning and the start of commercial operations.
