Elbit Systems announced on Monday, November 2, 2026, that Israel's Ministry of Defense had awarded it a contract to establish and operate an advanced training and simulation center for the Israel Defense Forces Artillery Corps. The company's press release sets the contract value at approximately 170 million US dollars and the performance period at 15 years.
Elbit Systems will develop and deliver the center's training infrastructure. The planned facilities include mission and driving simulators, training classrooms and dedicated operational spaces. The solution will combine simulation technology, automation, artificial-intelligence functions and driver-training systems.
Long-Term Services Add Recurring Scope
The center is intended to support the operational integration of the ROEM, also known as SIGMA, self-propelled artillery system and the LAHAV, or PULS, precision rocket launcher system, into the IDF Artillery Corps. Elbit Systems will also provide training, maintenance and support throughout the contract period.
For investors, the announcement adds a long-duration services component to Elbit Systems' defense-equipment business. The contract covers both the initial infrastructure and ongoing support, while the company said the project should improve artillery readiness, shorten qualification and training timelines, and reduce resource consumption and wear on operational platforms.
Boaz Cohen, general manager of Elbit Systems Land & Armaments, said the project combines advanced infrastructure, immersive simulation technologies and a long-term partnership. He described the ROEM and LAHAV systems as key components of the IDF's next-generation land-firepower array.
