Elbit Systems announced on Monday, November 2, 2026, that Israel's Ministry of Defense had awarded it a contract worth approximately 170 million US dollars to establish and operate an advanced training and simulation center for the Israel Defense Forces Artillery Corps. The company said the agreement will run for 15 years. The details were published in the Elbit Systems announcement.
Training infrastructure supports new systems
The center is intended to support the operational integration of the ROEM, also known as SIGMA, self-propelled artillery system and the LAHAV, or PULS, precision rocket launcher system. Elbit will develop mission and driving simulators, training classrooms and dedicated facilities for the artillery corps.
The planned solution includes simulation technology, automation, artificial-intelligence functions and driver-training capabilities. Elbit will also provide training, maintenance and support throughout the contract period, creating a long-term service component alongside the infrastructure work.
According to the company, the project is designed to improve the operational readiness and proficiency of artillery personnel, shorten qualification and training timelines, and make training more efficient. Elbit also expects the use of simulation to reduce resource consumption and wear on operational platforms.
Management highlights integrated capabilities
Boaz Cohen, general manager of Elbit Systems Land & Armaments, said the project would combine infrastructure, immersive simulation technology and long-term support for the ROEM and LAHAV systems. He described the two systems as key elements of the IDF's next-generation land firepower array.
The contract adds another multi-year defense program to Elbit's project pipeline and extends the company's role from equipment delivery into training and lifecycle support. For investors, the structure points to recurring services over the contract period, although the announcement does not provide a timetable for revenue recognition or profitability.
