  • Third-quarter sales increased, while adjusted EBITA margin declined amid higher component costs and a challenging radio-access market.

Ericsson's week combined a longer-term network-growth initiative with a sharper profitability test. On October 20, the company and Singtel announced a five-year strategic partnership covering 5G Advanced, AI-powered applications and more intelligent connectivity for businesses and consumers in Singapore, according to Ericsson's press release.

Five-year Singapore network roadmap

The agreement extends an existing collaboration and is intended to scale network slicing, programmable connectivity and AI-native capabilities across industrial and consumer use cases. A live-network trial of AI-powered radio-access capabilities improved throughput by 19 percent, Ericsson said.

The planned applications include autonomous vehicles, industrial robotics, smart manufacturing and intelligent logistics. For investors, the announcement points to potential demand for network modernization and software-enabled services, although the release describes a roadmap rather than a disclosed financial target.

Sales growth meets weaker profitability

Ericsson reported third-quarter sales of SEK 59.478 billion on October 15, up 6 percent from the year-earlier quarter, while organic sales growth reached 7 percent. The company's results release reported adjusted gross margin of 47.7 percent and adjusted EBITA margin of 17.0 percent.

Adjusted EBITA declined from the prior-year quarter because the comparison included a SEK 7.6 billion capital gain. Ericsson said adjusted EBITA increased when that gain was excluded, but also pointed to a flat radio-access market, geopolitical uncertainty and higher component costs as challenges for the outlook.

Ericsson stock traded at 9.98 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:44 Berlin time on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The real-time quote of Ericsson stock provides the latest trading reference.
