Garmin stock expands ECG App access to customers in India

Garmin is expanding its digital health offering in India. The company announced on Tuesday, November 3, that its ECG App is now available to customers in the country on compatible smartwatches, including the fenix 9, Venu 4 and Forerunner 970. The Tribune published the announcement, citing ANI and NewsVoir.

ECG feature reaches Indian users

The app lets users record a 30-second ECG and review the result immediately on a compatible watch or later in the Garmin Connect smartphone app. Garmin says the feature analyzes electrical signals from the watch sensors to detect signs of atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib, or normal sinus rhythm.

Users can synchronize their results with Garmin Connect, where they can review their history and create reports to share with a healthcare provider. The app requires the latest Garmin Connect version and updated smartwatch software. Availability remains limited to supported regions, devices and users aged 22 or older.

Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing Susan Lyman said the rollout gives customers another way to monitor their health. She highlighted the potential value of recording a heart rhythm when symptoms are intermittent and may not appear during a clinical visit.

Health platform gains another use case

The India launch broadens the geographic reach of Garmin's health software and adds another use case for its smartwatch ecosystem. It does not by itself provide a financial forecast, but wider availability can support the company's strategy of combining wearable hardware with Garmin Connect services.
