General Dynamics is due to report its third-quarter results before the US market opens on Friday, October 30. Investors are focusing on Gulfstream business-jet deliveries, aerospace margins and the effect of supply-chain constraints on the company's outlook, according to a Reuters report published by Investing.com.

Analysts expect earnings of 4.12 US dollars per share and revenue of 13.73 billion US dollars for the September quarter. The estimates imply year-over-year growth of 6.2 percent in earnings and 6.4 percent in revenue, but would represent a sequential slowdown from the second quarter, when General Dynamics earned 4.24 US dollars per share on revenue of 14.1 billion US dollars.

Gulfstream remains central

Gulfstream delivery figures are likely to receive particular attention because the business-jet unit is a major profit driver. RBC analyst Ken Herbert expects 38 deliveries, below an earlier estimate of 41. General Dynamics had targeted 160 aircraft deliveries for 2026 after lowering the goal from 162.

A shortfall could pressure aerospace margins and raise questions about the full-year outlook. Management commentary on production bottlenecks, supplier availability and the pace of improvement in the supply chain will therefore be important alongside the headline results.

Defense activity could provide support elsewhere in the portfolio. General Dynamics Mission Systems recently won a US Navy contract for next-generation electronic attack units for the EA-18G Growler program, with work extending through 2032. The company has also highlighted the XM30 and M1E3 combat vehicles as part of its positioning for Army modernization programs.

General Dynamics beat consensus in the second quarter, with earnings ahead by nearly 8 percent and revenue above forecasts by nearly 5 percent. The upcoming report will show whether that momentum continued while aerospace faced delivery and supply-chain risks. Leadership adds another point of attention: Danny Deep is scheduled to become chief executive in January 2027, succeeding Phebe Novakovic.
