- Glencore produced 13,700 tonnes of cobalt in the first nine months of 2026, down 52 percent from the prior-year period.
- Steelmaking coal output reached 21.5 million tonnes in the first nine months of 2026, 13 percent below the comparable period.
- Ferrochrome production increased 29 percent quarter on quarter as smelter restarts progressed in 2026.
- Glencore's next earnings date is February 24, 2027.
Glencore reported a third-quarter production update on October 29, 2026, while its London-listed equity represented a GBP 62.4 billion market value. The company maintained its full-year 2026 production guidance, according to Glencore.
Output remains mixed
Own-sourced copper production reached 598,600 tonnes in the first nine months of 2026, up 3 percent from 583,500 tonnes in the comparable 2025 period. After adjusting for the Mount Isa closure and Kidd disposal, the increase was 12 percent, with African Copper adding 56,700 tonnes and Antamina adding 32,300 tonnes, according to Glencore.
The operational picture was uneven. Cobalt production fell 52 percent year over year to 13,700 tonnes in the first nine months, while zinc declined 23 percent to 547,200 tonnes. Steelmaking coal reached 21.5 million tonnes, down 13 percent, whereas energy coal rose 1 percent to 73.9 million tonnes.
What does the quarter change?
Quarterly copper output rose 2 percent to 201,600 tonnes from 197,400 tonnes, but Morningstar reported that the figure was 4 percent below a 210,000-tonne market consensus. That gap helps explain why maintained guidance does not equal an unambiguously strong operating update.
Glencore still expects full-year copper production of 810,000 to 870,000 tonnes, with the result toward the lower end. Marketing Adjusted EBIT is expected to exceed USD 5 billion in 2026, a view first outlined in the company's October 2, 2026 guidance update. The October 29 report also said ferrochrome production increased 29 percent quarter on quarter as Boshoek and Wonderkop restarted.
Three dated operating markers
On October 2, 2026, Glencore raised its expected 2026 Marketing Adjusted EBIT above USD 5 billion. On October 14, 2026, its ASX CHESS Depositary Interests were scheduled to begin trading, also according to Glencore. On October 29, 2026, the company published the third-quarter production report.
Next reporting date
TradingView lists February 24, 2027 as Glencore's next earnings date. The next report will show whether the expected fourth-quarter improvement in copper grades and recoveries offsets the lower-end annual guidance.
