Heidelberg Materials reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter results on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as revenue and operating earnings accelerated across Europe and North America. The company also maintained its full-year outlook and expanded its cost-reduction program. The company release said growth momentum that emerged in the second quarter strengthened further in the period ended September 30.

Revenue increased 10 percent to 6.413 billion euros from 5.807 billion euros a year earlier. Result from current operations, Heidelberg Materials' preferred operating profit measure, rose 9 percent to 1.281 billion euros from 1.179 billion euros. Operating EBITDA climbed 8 percent to 1.624 billion euros, while the EBITDA margin eased to 25.3 percent from 25.9 percent.

The quarter exceeded company-compiled expectations. According to Alliance News, consensus had called for revenue of 6.19 billion euros and result from current operations of 1.24 billion euros. The first nine months produced revenue of 16.993 billion euros, up 4.9 percent, while result from current operations rose 2.8 percent to 2.530 billion euros.

Europe and North America drive momentum

Chief Executive Dominik von Achten attributed the performance to stronger business development in Europe and sustained growth in North America. Active price and cost management, productivity improvements and an ongoing recovery in demand also supported the result. Aggregates remained an important growth driver, helped by infrastructure, industrial and data-center construction activity.

Heidelberg Materials said its Transformation Accelerator Initiative will exceed the original 500 million euro savings target by the end of 2026. The group now plans an additional 300 million euros of savings through 2028, to be achieved in nearly equal parts in 2027 and 2028. The program will focus on technical efficiency, operational improvements and structural changes, particularly in Europe, where some markets remain weak.

Guidance remains intact for 2026

Management continues to expect result from current operations between 3.40 billion and 3.65 billion euros for 2026. Return on invested capital is still expected to remain slightly above 10 percent, while specific net carbon dioxide emissions per tonne of cementitious material should remain near the prior-year level after the first-time consolidation of Akçansa.

The group is also using acquisitions to broaden growth. Heidelberg Materials agreed on October 7 to acquire NCC Industry's aggregates and asphalt activities in Sweden and Norway. It completed the acquisition of the Maas Group construction materials business in Australia and a 70 percent stake in Peru-based Cementos Inka on October 1.

The real-time quote of Heidelberg Materials stock traded at 170.10 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:10 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 8.55 percent above the Xetra close of Tuesday, November 3. The move followed the quarterly release, while Alliance News reported the shares at 170.05 euros in late-morning Frankfurt trading.
