- HUGO BOSS lowered its 2026 sales and EBIT outlook as consumer demand softened and IT depreciation costs rose.
- Third-quarter revenue fell while gross margin widened, keeping the turnaround focused on sourcing, pricing and cost discipline.
- SIH Partners reported total positions of 24.93 percent of voting rights, including shares and instruments.
HUGO BOSS lowered its 2026 outlook on November 2 after weaker consumer demand and higher non-cash depreciation for IT assets put pressure on the fashion group. The company now expects currency-adjusted sales to decline in the high single-digit percentage range, compared with its previous mid- to high-single-digit forecast. EBIT is expected between 250 million euros and 300 million euros, below the former range of 300 million euros to 350 million euros, according to the Reuters report.
Demand Pressure Tests The Turnaround
The company said third-quarter revenue decreased 4 percent to 946 million euros, while EBIT fell to 81 million euros from 95 million euros a year earlier. Gross margin nevertheless expanded to 63.3 percent from 61.2 percent, supported by sourcing efficiencies and optimized pricing. The figures point to a mixed operating picture: weaker volumes and demand are weighing on earnings, while the CLAIM 5 TOUCHDOWN strategy is improving margin quality.
The HUGO BOSS announcement also raised the expected capital-expenditure range to 4 to 5 percent of group sales from around 4 percent. The increase includes the planned acquisition of a logistics property at the company headquarters. For investors, the next test is whether gross-margin progress and cost discipline can offset volatile fourth-quarter demand.
Shareholding Signal Adds A Second Theme
SIH Partners reported on November 2 that the threshold event occurred on October 30. Its total position stood at 24.93 percent of voting rights, comprising 0.66 percent through shares and 24.27 percent through instruments, according to the EQS voting-rights announcement. The filing adds a shareholder-structure development to the earnings and outlook debate without establishing a trading recommendation.
The real-time quote of Hugo Boss stock was 38.19 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:04 CET on Saturday, November 7.
