- Third-quarter growth supported Intertek's unchanged full-year outlook for organic revenue, margins, earnings and free cash flow.
- The proposed EQT acquisition remains subject to outstanding regulatory approvals and is expected to close within the stated transaction window.
Intertek's third-quarter trading update strengthened the company's case for a solid 2026, while its proposed acquisition by EQT continued toward completion. The update was published on October 28, 2026, and covered the three months to September 30.
In Intertek's October trading statement, the group reported third-quarter revenue growth of 7.0 percent at constant currency. Like-for-like revenue increased 6.4 percent, with Consumer Products, Health and Safety, and Industry and Infrastructure among the stronger areas. World of Energy recorded a small like-for-like decline.
Guidance remains in place
Intertek maintained its expectation of mid-single-digit like-for-like revenue growth at constant currency for 2026. Management also retained its expectations for continuous margin progression, strong earnings growth and strong free cash flow. The company said performance was supported by pricing, operating leverage, cost controls and productivity improvements.
The update also included financial parameters for the year. Intertek expects net finance costs of 69 million to 70 million pounds, an effective tax rate of 25.5 percent to 26.5 percent and financial net debt of 800 million to 850 million pounds before material currency or merger-and-acquisition effects.
EQT deal remains a key event
The proposed acquisition by EQT has been approved by shareholders and remains on track to complete in the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027, subject to outstanding regulatory approvals. Until completion, Intertek continues to report as a listed company, leaving operating performance and transaction progress as the main investor reference points.
