Jungheinrich has started customer sales of its new EFG 5 electric counterbalance forklift series. In a company release dated November 2, the manufacturer said customers had been able to order the trucks since November 1, 2026.
The Jungheinrich release describes the EFG 5 as a heavy-duty electric range for customers in industries including building materials, beverages and automotive manufacturing. The models cover load capacities from 4.0 to 5.0 tonnes and lift heights of up to 7,500 millimetres.
New models target intensive operations
Jungheinrich says redesigned drive and lift technology can raise handling performance by up to 15 percent. The series supports multi-shift use and is available with lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries, alongside configurable cab, equipment and assistance packages.
The product launch broadens the company's electric offering toward applications that have often relied on combustion-engine forklifts. The commercial contribution remains dependent on customer adoption, order intake and margins rather than on the launch milestone alone.
