- The EFG 5 targets heavy-duty users in industries including building materials, beverages and automotive manufacturing.
- Jungheinrich says the redesigned drive and hydraulic systems can raise handling performance by up to 15 percent.
- The rollout expands the company's electric offering for applications that have often relied on diesel-powered trucks.
Jungheinrich has started sales of its new EFG 5 generation of electric counterbalance forklift trucks. Customers have been able to order the models since November 1, according to the Jungheinrich press release.
The EFG 5 series is designed for heavy-duty applications in sectors such as building materials, beverages and automotive manufacturing. The trucks offer load capacities from 4.0 to 5.0 tonnes, lift heights of up to 7,500 millimetres and configurations for demanding multi-shift operations.
Electric Performance For Heavy Loads
Jungheinrich says the new generation can deliver up to 15 percent higher handling performance. A redesigned drive and hydraulic concept combines two drive motors with a new energy-efficient lift motor. Hydraulic oil flow rises by about 50 percent, supporting faster movements with large attachments under heavy loads.
The company offers two configurations. The efficiencyPLUS version focuses on energy-efficient operation at a constant performance level, while drive&liftPLUS prioritises faster acceleration, higher travel speeds and quicker lifting and lowering movements. The top speed reaches 20 kilometres per hour.
The product launch also highlights safety and working conditions. Jungheinrich says the driver's workplace provides about 5 percent more foot space, while slimmer B-pillars and a glass door improve visibility. Optional assistance systems include AI-supported person recognition that can warn operators and reduce speed when potential hazards are detected.
Jungheinrich stock traded at 22.78 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:07 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026, 0.97 percent above the Xetra close of Wednesday, November 4, at 22.56 euros. The move places the shares above the previous Xetra session close as the company broadens its electric product range.
For investors, the EFG 5 launch addresses a structural shift from internal-combustion equipment toward electric heavy-duty handling. Commercial traction will depend on customer adoption in applications requiring high capacity, long operating cycles and rapid handling. The company has not provided a sales forecast for the series in the cited release.
