KION stock: Automation growth offsets weaker truck orders

Published on 10/31/2026 at 10:00 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWS
KION stock enters the weekend after stronger automation growth and weaker truck demand shaped its nine-month report. Management lowered its 2026 outlook.

Automation growth meets weaker truck demand

  • KION increased nine-month revenue and adjusted EBIT, led by Intelligent Automation Solutions.
  • Industrial Trucks & Services lagged market growth and weighed on order intake.
  • The company now expects its double-digit adjusted EBIT margin target only after 2027.

KION reported stronger revenue and profitability for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, October 29, while weaker order intake in its Industrial Trucks & Services division led management to maintain a more cautious outlook. The results were published by finanzen.net from an EQS release.

Group revenue increased 3.9 percent to 8.522 billion euros. Adjusted EBIT rose 9.9 percent to 632.5 million euros, lifting the adjusted EBIT margin to 7.4 percent from 7.0 percent a year earlier. Net income reached 309.1 million euros, compared with 167.1 million euros in the prior-year period, which included significant one-off efficiency-program expenses.

Automation leads the operating improvement

Intelligent Automation Solutions provided the clearest growth contribution. Revenue in the segment increased 16.9 percent to 2.519 billion euros, while adjusted EBIT advanced 36.6 percent to 172.2 million euros. Its adjusted EBIT margin improved to 6.8 percent from 5.8 percent.

Industrial Trucks & Services presented a weaker picture. Revenue slipped to 6.034 billion euros from 6.079 billion euros, while adjusted EBIT declined slightly to 528.7 million euros. KION said the division did not keep pace with market growth, particularly in value and economy trucks, while regional and product mix also affected performance.

Lower outlook keeps pressure on trucks

Group order intake fell to 8.445 billion euros from 8.882 billion euros. KION's revised 2026 outlook calls for revenue of 11.450 billion to 11.750 billion euros, adjusted EBIT of 815 million to 875 million euros and free cash flow of 400 million to 500 million euros. The company now expects to reach its medium-term double-digit adjusted EBIT margin target only after 2027.

KION stock traded at 33.30 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:57 CET on Saturday, October 31, 2026, 0.09 percent above the Xetra close of Friday, October 30.
