Kioxia stock enters a new test after a record September quarter. Management expects limited progress in the October-December period as exchange rates weigh.

Record Quarter Meets Cautious Outlook

  • AI data-center demand lifted Kioxia's September-quarter revenue and operating profit to new highs.
  • Management expects October-December revenue and operating profit to remain broadly similar to the preceding quarter.
  • Kioxia declared its first dividend, with payment scheduled to begin on December 8.

Kioxia Holdings reported a record July-September quarter on October 30, as demand from data-center customers focused on generative AI lifted flash-memory prices and shipments. Quartz reported that operating profit reached 1.99 trillion yen, while revenue rose to 2.48 trillion yen.

The quarterly figures marked a sharp increase from the same period a year earlier and also exceeded the April-June performance. Operating profit had been 85.9 billion yen in the prior-year quarter and 1.27 trillion yen in the preceding quarter. Revenue stood at 448.3 billion yen a year earlier and 1.77 trillion yen in April-June.

AI Demand Drives First-Half Surge

For the six months ended September 30, revenue reached 4.25 trillion yen, compared with 791.1 billion yen a year earlier. Profit attributable to owners of the parent rose to 2.2 trillion yen from 58.9 billion yen. Kioxia attributed the gains to higher average selling prices linked to generative-AI data-center customers and increased bit shipments, according to Quartz.

The results underline the strong operating leverage in the NAND-memory market, but they also raise the bar for the next quarter. Kioxia expects October-December revenue of 2.5 trillion yen and operating profit of 2 trillion yen. The company said continuing data-center demand should be offset by the negative effect of exchange rates, leaving revenue and profit broadly similar to the September quarter.

First Dividend Adds Shareholder Return

Kioxia also announced a dividend of 90 yen per share for the fiscal year ending March 2027, with payments scheduled to begin on December 8. The amount is stated before the three-for-one stock split that took effect on October 1. This is the company's first dividend, after no payment for the fiscal year ended March 2026.

The shareholder-return announcement adds a second element to the investment case: strong current cash generation alongside a cautious near-term earnings outlook. Kioxia spent 800.3 billion yen on treasury shares during the first half and held 1.4 trillion yen in cash and cash equivalents at September 30, up from 470.7 billion yen at the end of March.

Kioxia stock traded at 52.88 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 09:17 CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Kioxia stock.

The next key issue for investors is whether AI-related enterprise-storage demand can offset softer smartphone and PC demand while currency effects constrain the December-quarter comparison. Kioxia has not provided a full-year forecast in the cited results report.
