Lockheed Martin plans to invest 420 million USD in its Camden, Arkansas, manufacturing operations and create 650 full-time jobs over five years. Talk Business & Politics reported the expansion on Monday, November 2, citing comments from the company's Camden site general manager.

The project is designed to raise production capacity for PAC-3, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense and Precision Strike Missile systems. The investment adds to Lockheed Martin's effort to expand output of air-defense and precision-strike weapons as demand from the United States and allied customers remains a central driver for the sector.

According to Talk Business & Politics, the Camden site has produced seven U.S. Department of Defense programs since its establishment in 1979. These include PAC-3, THAAD, PrSM, ATACMS, GMLRS, HIMARS and M270 systems.

Capacity investment broadens defense footprint

The 2.2-million-square-foot facility occupies 2,427 acres in Camden's Highland Industrial Park and has delivered more than 700,000 missiles and rockets over four decades, the report said. Lockheed Martin employs approximately 1,100 people at the site.

The latest commitment follows a January 2026 groundbreaking for a Munitions Acceleration Center in Camden. An agreement with the U.S. government is intended to increase annual THAAD interceptor capacity from 96 to 400 units. The center is planned to use advanced manufacturing, robotics and digital technologies for THAAD, PAC-3 and related platforms.

Lockheed Martin stock traded at 572.00 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:09 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. Investors will likely focus on whether the added capacity translates into higher deliveries and reliable execution across complex fixed-price programs; the investment itself does not establish a particular stock-market reaction.
