- The North Star program targets a double-digit EBIT margin by 2028.
- The annual financial report is scheduled for March 24, 2027, followed by the annual general meeting on April 28, 2027.
LPKF Laser & Electronics stock fell 6.18 percent versus the Xetra close as finanzen.at reported weak nine-month results on October 29, 2026. Revenue declined to EUR 60.3 million in the first nine months of 2026, while delayed solar and Advanced Packaging orders weighed on performance.
Revenue pressure reaches earnings
The earnings deterioration was substantial. EBIT was EUR -12.8 million after nine months, compared with EUR -3.3 million a year earlier. Adjusted EBIT reached EUR -8.9 million, compared with EUR -0.8 million in the prior-year period, and the adjusted EBIT margin was -14.7 percent versus -1.0 percent.
Order intake was EUR 65.1 million, down from EUR 65.4 million in the first nine months of 2025. The order backlog stood at EUR 31.9 million on September 30, 2026, compared with EUR 32.5 million a year earlier. Free cash flow was EUR -11.7 million, versus EUR -5.4 million in the prior-year period.
What does the 2028 margin goal require?
LPKF said its North Star efficiency program had completed its first phase, with annual cost savings of more than EUR 8 million taking effect gradually. The second phase is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2027, as the company moves toward a functional organization and a sustainable double-digit EBIT margin by 2028.
The immediate issue is execution. In Advanced Packaging, LPKF received a Letter of Intent in the third quarter from an Asian manufacturer for a mid-single-digit million-euro volume, but the transition from qualification projects to production is taking longer than expected. Solar customers are also postponing investments as the market shifts toward perovskite technology.
Reporting dates set the next milestones
EQS News reported on September 30, 2026, that LPKF had reduced its 2026 revenue outlook from EUR 105 to 120 million to EUR 93 to 100 million. The adjusted EBIT margin outlook moved from -3.0 to 4.5 percent to -7.0 to -2.5 percent.
The annual financial report is scheduled for March 24, 2027, and the annual general meeting for April 28, 2027. The dates were listed in the company's financial calendar.
