Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ISIN DE0008232125) launched a nonstop Kuala Lumpur-Frankfurt service on October 26, 2026. The Lufthansa Newsroom said the route initially operates five days a week with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner carrying 287 seats across three travel classes.
Frankfurt hub gains a new link
The route connects Malaysia's capital with Lufthansa's Frankfurt hub and onward destinations across Europe and other international markets. Lufthansa said the service strengthens its Southeast Asian network, which also includes Bangkok, Singapore and Phuket.
Flight LH705 leaves Kuala Lumpur at 11:55 p.m. and arrives in Frankfurt at 6:00 a.m. the following morning. The return flight LH704 departs Frankfurt at 9:30 p.m. and reaches Kuala Lumpur at 4:40 p.m. the next day, according to the same Lufthansa Newsroom release.
What does the new route add?
The aircraft brings Lufthansa's Allegris cabin to the new connection, giving the group a premium product angle alongside the additional route capacity. The service is therefore a network and product expansion, while the release does not quantify expected revenue or profit from the route.
Lufthansa's broader Asian strategy includes the continuation of the Frankfurt-Kuala Lumpur route into the summer 2027 schedule, when it is planned to expand to a daily departure, according to a separate Lufthansa Group schedule announcement.
