- Meituan is seeking Hong Kong listing approval for two senior-note tranches offered only to professional investors.
- The notes carry maturities in 2031 and 2036, extending the companys financing schedule.
Meituan announced on November 3 that it had applied for the listing and trading of two senior-note tranches on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. A Futubull page carrying the HKEX notice said approval was expected to take effect on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The proposed listing covers CNY 4.5 billion of 2.50% senior notes due in 2031 and CNY 3.5 billion of 3.10% senior notes due in 2036. The notes are offered exclusively to professional investors under Chapter 37 of the Hong Kong listing rules, and the notice said the offering is not a public sale in the United States.
Longer maturities shape financing
The structure gives Meituan two debt maturities separated by five years. The 2031 tranche carries the lower coupon, while the 2036 tranche offers a higher coupon for the longer term. The listing application was made under an offering circular dated October 27, according to the notice.
For investors, the transaction adds visibility on the companys access to offshore debt markets but does not by itself change operating earnings. The senior notes are debt obligations rather than equity, so the relevant considerations are future interest costs, refinancing needs and the companys ability to generate cash while competing across its consumer platform businesses.
Meituan stock traded at EUR 8.52 on Lang & Schwarz at 09:31 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The real-time quote of Meituan stock provides the current euro-market indication.
