- Third-quarter organic revenue rose as volume and mix became the main growth driver.
- Adjusted earnings increased on a constant-currency basis, while regional performance remained uneven.
- Mondelez agreed to acquire a majority stake in Undercover Snacks to expand its permissible-indulgence portfolio.
Mondelez International reported stronger volume momentum in the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, while adding a new snack brand to its portfolio. The company published the results on Thursday, October 29, according to its third-quarter earnings release.
Volume drives the quarterly rebound
Net revenue increased 2.3 percent year over year, while organic net revenue advanced 2.1 percent. Volume and mix contributed 1.8 percentage points, compared with a 0.3 percentage-point contribution from pricing.
The improvement was broad but uneven. Emerging markets posted 4.1 percent organic growth, led by Asia, the Middle East and Africa at 7.7 percent and Latin America at 6.9 percent. North America grew 1.6 percent organically, while Europe declined 2.1 percent despite a positive volume-and-mix contribution.
Adjusted earnings improve
Adjusted diluted earnings per share reached 0.78 US dollars, up 5.5 percent on a constant-currency basis. Adjusted operating income rose 17.0 percent on the same basis, and the adjusted operating margin increased to 13.9 percent. Reported diluted earnings per share was 1.02 US dollars; the difference reflects, among other items, valuation effects from commodity and currency derivatives, acquisition-related items and restructuring costs.
Undercover expands the portfolio
Mondelez also agreed to acquire a majority stake in Undercover Snacks, a US snack business known for chocolate and frosted quinoa crisps. The company said the transaction strengthens its position in the permissible-indulgence segment and complements its existing portfolio. The deal remains subject to customary conditions and regulatory approval.
