- CubeSat deployment rehearsals have been completed ahead of the mission's rendezvous phase.

OHB's Hera mission has reached a new milestone. In a release dated November 6, 2026, OHB said its spacecraft for the European Space Agency had transmitted its first close-up images of the Didymos asteroid system. The images were captured from around 60 kilometers away and show a previously unseen side of the larger asteroid.
The company said the image marks the start of the mission's final approach phase. Hera has also completed rehearsals for the deployment of its two CubeSats, Juventas and Milani, after trajectory-correction and braking maneuvers. The developments add a fresh operational detail to the space group's recent news flow. The announcement was published by OHB.
Mission progress supports long-cycle positioning
OHB leads the development, construction, integration, testing and launch of Hera. The spacecraft was completed in four years and is designed to study the aftermath of NASA's DART impact on the Didymos-Dimorphos system. The mission's scientific results are intended to improve understanding of asteroid deflection and support future planetary-defense planning.
The next scheduled milestone is November 25, when ESA plans to unveil detailed images of both asteroids. For investors, that timetable provides a defined communications event, although the release contains no new financial guidance.
