PACCAR stock: Q4 delivery outlook points to supply-chain recovery
Published on 11/03/2026 at 17:02 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSSupply constraints shape the outlook
- PACCAR delivered 40,100 trucks in the third quarter, below its expected level as suppliers struggled to match faster production rates.
- Management expects fourth-quarter deliveries to rise to 41,000-43,000 vehicles as supplier performance improves.
- North American Class 8 demand is forecast at 240,000-280,000 trucks for 2027.
PACCAR Inc. delivered fewer trucks than expected in the third quarter as suppliers struggled to increase output as quickly as demand. The issue adds an execution risk to otherwise strong earnings and gives investors a more specific measure to watch in the current quarter.
Transport Topics reported that PACCAR delivered 40,100 trucks globally in Q3 2026, below the roughly 42,000 vehicles the company had expected. Chief Executive Preston Feight said suppliers had not scaled output at the same pace as the broader market, with individual parts shortages affecting completed vehicles.
Higher deliveries expected in Q4
Management expects fourth-quarter deliveries of 41,000 to 43,000 trucks. Feight said supplier performance was improving and that closer coordination should support higher production. The forecast makes supply execution a near-term operating indicator alongside customer demand.
North American Class 8 truck demand remains a supportive backdrop. PACCAR estimates the 2026 US and Canadian market at 240,000 to 260,000 vehicles and expects 240,000 to 280,000 trucks in 2027. The wider range reflects a market that is improving, but still sensitive to fleet cash flow, freight conditions and regulatory choices.
Strong earnings meet execution pressure
PACCAR reported third-quarter revenue of USD 7.94 billion and net income of USD 847.5 million. The company also benefited from higher truck margins, while the supply constraint limited the volume contribution from stronger customer demand.
