- Partners Group plans to divide its Global Value SICAV into distributing and compounding portfolios.
- Management fees could fall by at least 25 basis points or as much as 75 basis points, depending on the portfolio.
- Investor approval is expected in the week of November 9, with the new sub-funds planned to start on November 30.
Partners Group is seeking investor approval for a major overhaul of its EUR 6.6 billion Global Value SICAV evergreen private-equity fund. The proposal would separate older, underperforming investments from assets intended to compound over a longer period, according to Private Equity Wire, which published its report on October 21, 2026.
Under the plan, Global Value would become an umbrella structure with a distributing portfolio for older holdings and a compounding portfolio for investors seeking longer-term exposure. The changes are designed to address pressure from elevated redemption requests while giving investors different liquidity and return profiles.
Fees fall as liquidity tightens
Investors in the distributing portfolio would receive management-fee reductions of at least 25 basis points for three years. The compounding portfolio could receive reductions of up to 75 basis points through January 1, 2030. The proposed concessions are intended to support investor approval, but they would not by themselves demonstrate a recovery in fund performance.
The fund imposed a quarterly redemption limit of 5 percent of net asset value in June after withdrawal requests reached an estimated 9.8 percent of net asset value in the second quarter. Third-quarter requests again reached the 5 percent threshold, Private Equity Wire reported. The proposed net-redemption threshold for new share classes would fall from 5 percent to 2.5 percent from October 30, with a return to the standard 5 percent level for the compounding portfolio expected once the restructuring stabilizes.
Investors weigh the next steps
A shareholder vote is scheduled for the week of November 9. If approved, the two sub-funds are expected to become operational on November 30. The timetable makes the vote the next decisive event for the fund structure and for investors assessing how quickly redemption pressure can be contained.
Partners Group generated CHF 905 million in management income during the first half of 2026, up 6 percent from the prior year, according to the same report. Private Equity Wire also said the shares had declined by almost 40 percent during 2026 at the time of publication, highlighting the pressure facing the listed manager while its private-markets platform is being reshaped.
