- Partners Group is preparing a shareholder vote on restructuring its Global Value SICAV into distributing and compounding portfolios.
- The proposed split is intended to separate older holdings from assets designed for longer-term compounding.
- Private-credit fundraising is expanding a separate business line while redemption pressure remains concentrated in the private-equity vehicle.
Partners Group is heading into a key week for its evergreen-fund business as investors prepare to vote on a proposed restructuring of the EUR 6.6 billion Global Value SICAV. At the same time, the firm is expanding its private-credit platform through new insurance capital.
Vote Targets Fund Structure
The proposal would divide Global Value SICAV into a distributing portfolio for older investments and a compounding portfolio for newer assets. The structure is intended to give investors different liquidity and return profiles while addressing pressure from redemption requests, according to Spencer West.
The shareholder vote is expected in the week beginning November 9. If approved, the two sub-funds are expected to become operational on November 30. The proposal would separate older holdings from assets intended to compound over a longer period, rather than treating the fund as one pool.
Credit Platform Adds Capital
Partners Group closed a second rated feeder vehicle for its evergreen private-credit strategy on October 22. The vehicle raised USD 510 million from US-based insurance companies, with senior direct lending to non-cyclical industries at the center of the strategy, according to The Secondary Brief.
The fundraising and the redemption issue concern different parts of Partners Group's business. Credit inflows indicate demand for the private-credit strategy, while the fund vote addresses liquidity and portfolio construction in the evergreen private-equity vehicle.
