PGE is entering a more demanding phase after presenting an updated strategy through 2035. The plan combines a large investment program with a possible return to dividends, while shifting the Polish energy group further toward renewables, networks, storage and lower-carbon generation. The strategy was presented on October 19, 2026, and Rzeczpospolita updated its report on November 4.

PGE stock traded at 3.63 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:32 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Investors can follow the real-time quote of PGE stock alongside the companys longer-term capital commitments.

Capital shifts to transition assets

The revised strategy calls for total investment of 210 billion PLN between 2025 and 2035. Rzeczpospolita reported allocations of 80 billion PLN for renewable energy and storage, 70 billion PLN for network infrastructure and 48 billion PLN for stable low-emission capacity, including gas, district heating and nuclear projects. Coal receives 5 billion PLN, primarily for maintenance.

The plan targets 11 gigawatts of new renewable capacity connected to PGE networks by 2035, 9.6 gigawatts of flexible gas capacity and 18 gigawatt-hours of storage. PGE also aims to reach more than 5 gigawatts of onshore renewable capacity through acquisitions and organic development. The strategy assigns a limited role to coal, with district-heating coal units scheduled to be retired in 85 percent of assets by 2030 and in all assets by 2032.

Dividend return remains conditional

PGE plans to resume dividends from 2026 earnings, with a payout yield capped at 5 percent. That ceiling is a maximum safeguard rather than a target, according to Chief Financial Officer Przemys?aw Jastrz?bski as quoted by Rzeczpospolita. The final recommendation will depend on the groups current and projected financial position, the funding requirements of the capital program and developments related to coal assets.

Chief Executive Dariusz Lubera said the strategy must combine ambitious goals with financial responsibility, investment efficiency and timely execution. The company links the plan to changing market, technology and geopolitical conditions and to rising demand from artificial intelligence and data centers.

Nuclear power remains a strategic option rather than an immediate earnings driver. PGE plans to spend about 1 billion PLN on location studies for a potential second large nuclear plant and on preparations for small modular reactors, including the search for a technology partner. The strategy does not set an EBITDA target for this nuclear-options segment through 2035.

Execution is the next investor test

The revised plan improves the visibility of PGE's transition priorities, but it also raises the importance of capital discipline. Renewable projects, storage, networks and nuclear preparation require substantial funding before their earnings contribution is established. A dividend could therefore compete with investment needs if operating cash generation or regulatory conditions weaken.

The next scheduled earnings release on November 23, 2026, should give investors the next checkpoint on profitability, cash generation and execution. The broader market backdrop can be followed in current market reports.
