- Third-quarter net revenue rose 12 percent year over year to a record 1.42 billion US dollars.
- Net income fell 14 percent to 476 million US dollars as crypto revenue declined 55 percent.
- Robinhood lowered the upper end of its 2026 adjusted expense and share-based compensation outlook by 25 million US dollars.
Robinhood Markets reported record third-quarter revenue on October 27, 2026, but weaker profitability as cryptocurrency activity and net interest revenue declined. In its earnings release, the company said total net revenue increased 12 percent year over year to a record 1.42 billion US dollars for the period ended September 30.
Transaction-based revenue rose 19 percent to 867 million US dollars. Options revenue increased 31 percent to 399 million US dollars, equities revenue advanced 41 percent to 121 million US dollars and event-contract revenue reached 173 million US dollars, more than six times the prior-year level. Cryptocurrency revenue fell 55 percent to 120 million US dollars, while net interest revenue declined 9 percent to 415 million US dollars.
Revenue breadth meets lower earnings
Net income decreased 14 percent year over year to 476 million US dollars. Diluted earnings per share fell 16 percent to 0.51 US dollars, while adjusted earnings per share declined 3 percent to 0.60 US dollars. Robinhood said net income included 67 million US dollars of unrealized losses, primarily related to the mark-to-market valuation of Robinhood Ventures Fund I.
Operating expenses climbed 16 percent to 739 million US dollars. The increase reflected higher credit-loss provisions as the credit-card loan book expanded, costs tied to Trump Accounts and Rothera, and marketing and growth investments. Adjusted operating expenses and share-based compensation rose 8 percent to 664 million US dollars, while adjusted EBITDA increased 9 percent to 808 million US dollars.
The platform continued to add customers and assets. Funded customers increased 7 percent year over year to 28.7 million, total platform assets rose 19 percent to 396 billion US dollars and Robinhood Gold subscribers grew 34 percent to 5.2 million. Net deposits reached 15.7 billion US dollars in the quarter.
Expense guidance moves lower
Management lowered the upper end of its 2026 adjusted operating expenses and share-based compensation outlook by 25 million US dollars. The new range is 2.675 billion to 2.75 billion US dollars, compared with the previous ceiling of 2.775 billion US dollars. Robinhood attributed the change to efficiency gains, while noting that the outlook excludes items such as credit-loss provisions, pending-acquisition costs and potentially significant regulatory expenses.
The mix of results leaves investors weighing stronger product diversification against exposure to market activity. Options, equities and event contracts supplied fresh growth, but the decline in crypto revenue and net interest revenue showed how quickly cyclical revenue streams can change. The mark-to-market loss also reduced the connection between record revenue and reported earnings in the quarter.
