- Recurring third-quarter profit rose sequentially, supported by stronger banking revenue and fees.
- Management kept its profitability targets while lowering its near-term net interest income outlook.
- An interim cash dividend is scheduled for December, with the UBS European Conference next on the investor calendar.
Banco Sabadell reported stronger recurring earnings for the third quarter on Thursday, October 29, while trimming its full-year net interest income outlook. The bank said in its third-quarter results presentation that recurring profit reached 405 million euros, up 13% from the second quarter.
Core banking revenue excluding TSB rose 2.4% quarter on quarter to 1.26 billion euros. Net interest income increased 2% to 920 million euros, while fees and commissions gained 3.7% to 340 million euros. The comparison reflects TSB's sale and the resulting change in the group's reporting perimeter.
Profitability targets remain intact
Banco Sabadell expects net interest income to grow 1% in 2026, a lower outlook than previously indicated. Rising deposit costs are limiting part of the benefit from stronger lending volumes, while fee income is expected to increase about 4% for the year.
Management kept its profitability targets. Recurring return on tangible equity rose to 14.2% in the third quarter from 13.6% in June, leaving the bank's targets at 14.5% for 2026 and 16% for 2027. The non-performing loan ratio fell to 2.4% from 2.47% in the previous quarter.
Dividend sets next shareholder date
The bank announced an interim cash dividend of 0.07 euros per share, payable on December 29, for a total distribution of 325 million euros. Sabadell also said 57 million euros remained under its 331 million euro share buyback programme. Reported net profit for the first nine months reached 1.376 billion euros, including a 322 million euro after-tax gain from the TSB sale and 88 million euros in non-recurring early-retirement costs.
Sabadell stock traded at 3.44 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:14 CET on Friday, October 30, 2026. That was a 1.43% decline from the 3.49 euros quoted in the latest report at 11:08 CET on the same day.
