- A 7-cent interim dividend is scheduled for December 29, adding to the bank's shareholder-return focus.
Banco Sabadell's third-quarter update and Groupe BPCE's strategic investment defined the bank's investor agenda during the week ending Saturday, November 7, 2026. The developments point to stronger recurring profitability alongside a new shareholder relationship that could broaden commercial cooperation.
Recurring profit gains momentum
In its third-quarter results presentation, Banco Sabadell reported recurring net profit of 405 million euros for the quarter, 13 percent above the previous quarter. Recurring return on tangible equity reached 14.2 percent, while the fully loaded CET1 ratio stood at 13.12 percent.
Core banking revenue, excluding TSB, reached 1,260 million euros in the quarter, up 2.4 percent from the second quarter. Net interest income rose 2 percent quarter-on-quarter to 920 million euros and fees increased 3.7 percent to 340 million euros. The bank expects recurring costs to rise by around 2 percent in 2026.
BPCE adds strategic backing
Groupe BPCE said in its third-quarter release on November 3 that it had acquired a friendly 7 percent equity stake in Banco Sabadell. BPCE intends to seek a seat on the board and explore partnerships in corporate finance, equipment leasing, consumer lending and cross-border business. The investment does not amount to a change of control.
The partnership adds a long-term shareholder to Sabadell's capital structure, while its commercial benefits remain subject to future discussions and governance procedures. For investors, the key issue is whether the relationship can support revenue growth without changing the bank's existing profitability and capital priorities.
Dividend keeps returns in focus
Sabadell announced a 7-cent interim cash dividend with a total distribution of 325 million euros, payable on December 29. The bank also said its 331-million-euro share buyback programme was 83 percent complete, with 57 million euros remaining.
The real-time quote of Sabadell stock was 3.59 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:44 CET on Saturday, November 7, 2026, 0.28 percent below the Xetra close of Friday, November 6. The Xetra close was 3.60 euros, according to a market report by The Officer.
