- The divested business generated EUR 2.068 billion in 2025 sales across Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
- Dahl operated 190 outlets and employed 2,700 people before leaving Saint-Gobain's scope.
- Management framed the transaction as part of the Lead & Grow plan to optimize the group's business profile.
Saint-Gobain completed the sale of its specialist distribution business in Sweden, Norway and Denmark to Kesko on Monday, November 2, 2026. The transaction transfers the operations, mainly branded Dahl, out of the French building-materials group's scope and marks a completed portfolio move rather than a pending agreement.
In a November 2 press release carried by Les Echos Comfi, Saint-Gobain said the business generated EUR 2.068 billion in sales in 2025. It comprised 190 outlets and employed 2,700 people across the three Nordic markets.
Valuation reshapes the business mix
The divestment carries an enterprise value of EUR 1.518 billion. Saint-Gobain said that equates to 10.4 times 2025 EBITDA including lease commitments under IFRS 16, or 14.6 times excluding those commitments. The two multiples reflect different lease-accounting treatments rather than separate proceeds.
The company placed the disposal within its Lead & Grow strategy, which aims to optimize the group's business profile. For investors, the completed transaction reduces Saint-Gobain's exposure to Nordic specialist distribution and leaves the group with a portfolio more focused on construction materials and related solutions.
