Samsung Electronics reported record third-quarter results on Thursday, October 29, 2026, as demand for artificial-intelligence memory products drove revenue and operating profit to new highs. The company reported KRW 195.3 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 107.4 trillion in operating profit for the quarter ended September 30, according to Samsung Global Newsroom.

Memory business drives earnings

The Device Solutions division generated KRW 147.1 trillion in revenue and KRW 106.5 trillion in operating profit. Samsung said its Memory Business reached another record quarter as server demand and AI applications lifted prices across product categories.

Samsung also said it scaled up sales of HBM4 and expects AI infrastructure investment to keep supporting demand in the fourth quarter. For 2027, the company expects AI-related capital expenditure to reach a historic level, with demand growth projected to exceed industry supply compared with 2026.

Mobile division remains under pressure

The company reported combined revenue of KRW 37.7 trillion for its MX and Networks businesses, which posted an operating loss of KRW 0.6 trillion. Samsung attributed the year-on-year earnings decline to cost pressures despite stronger flagship sales.

Samsung Display reported KRW 8.0 trillion in revenue and KRW 1.1 trillion in operating profit. The Visual Display and Digital Appliances businesses generated combined revenue of KRW 13.9 trillion and posted an operating loss of KRW 0.2 trillion.

Shareholder returns remain in focus

The third-quarter cash dividend was KRW 4,601 per common share and KRW 4,601 per preferred share, for a total payout of KRW 30 trillion. Samsung said the remaining 2026 shareholder returns are expected to total KRW 55 trillion to KRW 75 trillion and may include share repurchases, cancellations and cash dividends.

The board is scheduled to finalize the next shareholder-return policy and the remaining 2026 amount in late January 2027. Investors will therefore continue to weigh strong semiconductor earnings against the timing and scale of additional capital returns.
