- Reported London cuts affect wealth management and investment banking as Credit Suisse integration nears completion.

UBS Group has reached a sharper phase of its Credit Suisse integration. On Thursday, November 5, Swissinfo, citing Bloomberg, reported that the bank had cut about 200 positions in London in recent weeks as the integration moves toward completion.
The reductions reportedly affect several business units, including wealth management and investment banking. Swissinfo said some employees were offered alternative roles within UBS, while the bank declined to comment on the specific figures.
Integration enters a sharper test
The London reductions add a workforce dimension to UBS's broader effort to remove duplicated roles and consolidate systems after its 2023 rescue acquisition of Credit Suisse. The combined workforce expanded to just under 120,000 after the takeover and has since fallen by about 18%, according to the report.
UBS has indicated that the integration should be substantially completed by the end of 2026. For investors, the latest reported cuts point to continued execution on operating efficiency, but they do not by themselves establish the future level of group profitability or capital returns.
