Valeura Energy stock: Q3 cash rises as Thailand projects advance

Valeura Energy's third-quarter operating update on October 7 showed production on plan, a stronger cash position and continued progress across its Thailand portfolio. The company said in its Q3 2026 Operations Update that working-interest production before royalties averaged 22.1 thousand barrels of oil per day in the quarter.

Valeura sold 2.013 million barrels at an average realised price of 97.4 US dollars per barrel, generating revenue of 196.1 million US dollars. The figures are preliminary and unaudited. Revenue included 22.5 million US dollars in receivables from oil sold shortly before the end of September, while the company said it expected to collect the amount early in the fourth quarter.

Cash Strengthens As Projects Advance

Cash rose to 384.9 million US dollars at September 30, including 15.8 million US dollars of restricted cash. Valeura reported no debt. Chief Executive Sean Guest said third-quarter production was exactly on plan and that the balance sheet had reached its strongest position, with the company continuing to benefit from unhedged oil exposure and its fiscal position.

The update also added several strategic milestones. Valeura reported the Suraphi oil discovery on Block G1/48, which it believes could extend the productive life of the nearby Manora field and support further exploration and development. The company also took a final investment decision on the first phase of the Bussabong gas development on Block G3/65, where it expects a 40 percent non-operated interest after completion of the assignment.

At Jasmine, cumulative production reached 100 million barrels on September 21. At Wassana, onshore construction of the new central processing platform was completed on October 1. The jacket and platform were loaded for transport and field installation, while development drilling was planned for late 2026. Management continues to target first oil from the platform around the beginning of the second quarter of 2027.

November Results Set The Next Test

Valeura intends to publish its full unaudited third-quarter financial and operating results on Wednesday, November 11, followed by a management webcast. Investors will be watching whether the final figures confirm the preliminary operating picture and whether the company maintains its 2026 production expectations.
