Zalando's third-quarter update put B2B profitability and artificial intelligence at the center of the week's investor debate. In its release dated Tuesday, November 3, the company said B2B revenue rose almost 28% year on year to 354 million euros, while adjusted EBIT more than doubled to 42 million euros.
Group performance also improved. Zalando reported third-quarter GMV growth of 7.5% to 4.5 billion euros and revenue growth of 5.1% to 3.2 billion euros. Adjusted group EBIT increased 10.6% to 107 million euros, with the margin reaching 3.4%.
B2B expansion lifts profitability
The B2B division's adjusted EBIT margin expanded to 11.9% from 7.1% a year earlier. Zalando said the business covers ZEOS, Tradebyte and SCAYLE, which provide logistics, marketplace connectivity and e-commerce software for brands and retailers.
The company also cited major new enterprise customers for SCAYLE in the United States and the United Kingdom, while ZEOS Fulfilment added Lascana, LC Waikiki and Champion. The developments support Zalando's shift toward a platform model with a larger share of partner and software revenue.
AI broadens the platform strategy
Zalando introduced Zalando Extended, which adds products from other online shops to its platform. Westwing is the first pilot partner, and Zalando said its own AI agent is expected from 2027 to complete purchases inside the Zalando app.
The initiative could broaden the assortment available through Zalando without requiring the company to sell every product itself. It also gives partner shops access to Zalando customers and may create additional retail-media opportunities, according to the company's announcement.
Guidance remains unchanged
Zalando confirmed its 2026 outlook. The company continues to expect GMV and revenue growth in the lower half of a 12% to 17% range and adjusted EBIT of 680 million to 720 million euros. Zalando is scheduled to report full-year 2026 results on March 11, 2027.
