Türkiye's BIST 100 ended the October 30 session at 10,759.56 points, down 3.64% from the previous close. The closing level was reported by Türkiye Today and by Finans Hatti. The index is the market-cap-weighted, non-capped price index identified as XU100 on the Borsa Istanbul index page.
Broad selling pressure across Istanbul
The session produced a new six-month low, according to Investing.com. The financial news service reported that losses in the BIST Metal Products, BIST Leasing Factoring and BIST Textile Leather sectors weighed on Turkish equities. The breadth of the move underscored the defensive tone: 552 stocks declined, 79 advanced and 11 finished unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
The previous completed session was the half-day October 28 market, which ended at 11,165.44 points. Borsa Istanbul was closed on October 29 for Republic Day. Friday's close therefore represented a decline of 405.88 points from that reference level, consistent with the reported 3.64% fall.
Gainers offered limited counterweight
There were isolated pockets of strength despite the index-wide retreat. Investing.com reported that Dogus Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret rose 9.95% to 149.20, while Turkiye Sigorta gained 7.17% to 3.29 and Ag Anadolu Grubu Holding advanced 1.30% to 25.02. On the losing side, TR Anadolu Metal Madencilik fell 10.00% to 94.05, Gubre Fabrikalari declined 9.98% to 250.25 and Astor Enerji lost 9.97% to 158.90.
Global risk backdrop
Separately, Türkiye Today described a broad international sell-off on October 30, including heavy losses in US technology shares, higher energy prices and falling precious-metal prices. That global backdrop coincided with the BIST 100's decline, but the cited reports do not establish a direct causal link between those developments and the Istanbul close. For investors, the combination of a six-month low and sharply negative breadth indicates elevated short-term market stress rather than a move concentrated in only a few index constituents.
