The BIST 100 was trading almost unchanged near the 11,000-point mark on Tuesday, November 3, after a volatile start to the session. Investing.com displayed a delayed reading of 10,960.18 points, down 1.49 points, or 0.01 percent, from Monday's close of 10,961.67.
Volatile opening, limited net move
The index opened at 10,921.12, a decline of 0.37 percent from the previous close, and moved between 10,843.03 and 10,961.41 during the session. The narrow net change concealed a sizeable intraday swing, indicating that investors were still actively repositioning after Monday's 1.88 percent rebound.
Data published by Canli Gaste, citing Anadolu Agency, showed that the BIST 100 had reached 11,001.00 points at 13:00 Istanbul time, up 0.36 percent at that stage. Technology, industrial and services indexes were higher in that report, while the financial index was lower. The report also said that 72 BIST 100 constituents were rising, 23 were falling and five were unchanged at midday.
Inflation and global risks in focus
Domestic investors were monitoring Turkey's October inflation figures, while international markets were assessing the outlook for oil prices and geopolitical tensions. Türkiye Today identified inflation, the liquidation of investment funds and developments involving the United States and Iran as key issues for Turkish markets. It also noted that higher oil prices could increase pressure on Turkey's current account and inflation outlook.
For investors, the session's near-flat index performance marked consolidation after Monday's sharp recovery rather than a clear change in the broader risk picture. The BIST 100 remained below its recent highs, leaving the direction of the next move dependent on domestic inflation signals and global risk appetite.
