Three sessions of ETF inflows
U.S. spot ETFs are funds that hold Bitcoin directly and issue exchange-traded shares. The October 28 inflow was led by BlackRock's IBIT with 136.01 million USD, while Bitwise's BITB added 1.32 million USD, according to TradingView. The same report said the three-session sequence began on October 26. On October 27, U.S. spot funds attracted 176 million USD, according to Business Post.
ETF creations and redemptions measure fund activity rather than every Bitcoin transaction. The October 28 data therefore describe flows into listed products, while the underlying market also includes direct purchases, derivatives and other trading activity.
96.3 percent of recent ETF inflows
BlackRock's IBIT accounted for 96.3 percent of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows from August 3 through October 26, according to CryptoSlate. The concentration means the recent demand was distributed unevenly across the fund group. The report also said stablecoin supply was 12.7 billion USD below its May peak as of October 23, a liquidity indicator that points to a counterpoint to the latest ETF inflow sequence.
CryptoSlate reported that Bitcoin outperformed U.S. stocks on 10 of 18 October sessions, but lost 4.25 percent over that period while the S&P 500 gained 0.33 percent. Those figures cover October sessions through the report's stated period and do not establish a cause for the current Bitcoin price.
