- Bitcoin recovered above USD 80,000 after falling below USD 75,650 during the US midterm election results.
- US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded USD 74.6 million in net inflows on November 4 after three sessions of withdrawals.
- The inflow reversal remains modest compared with approximately USD 1.16 billion withdrawn across the preceding three sessions.
- IG identified USD 81,914.83 as the next technical resistance level and USD 75,649.41 as the short-term downside reference.
Bitcoin price recovered above USD 80,000 after a sharp election-related sell-off, but the rebound is meeting a still cautious demand backdrop. Investing.com displayed Bitcoin at USD 80,325.8 at 12:42:17 on November 5, 2026, in its real-time BTC/USD quote. The page showed a 24-hour volume of USD 35.51 billion and a market capitalization of USD 1.61 trillion.
The move followed a volatile November 4. According to IG, Bitcoin fell to an intraday low of USD 75,649.41 as Democrats secured control of both chambers of the US Congress. It later reached a one-week high of USD 81,163.42 before losing some momentum. The election result raised questions about the prospects for crypto market-structure legislation, while the clearer political outcome also reduced one source of uncertainty.
ETF flows turn positive again
US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately USD 74.6 million in net inflows on November 4, ending three consecutive sessions of outflows. IG reported that the funds had lost approximately USD 398.6 million on November 2 and USD 115.6 million on November 3. Including the October 30 outflow of approximately USD 643.2 million, withdrawals over the three sessions through November 3 reached about USD 1.16 billion.
The latest inflow therefore improves the immediate picture but does not yet establish a durable institutional buying trend. IG reported approximately USD 439.6 million of net outflows across the first four trading sessions of November, while cumulative net inflows since the US spot products launched remained around USD 56.6 billion. That contrast is important for investors: short-term selling pressure has eased, but the broader ETF base has not disappeared.
Rebound still faces technical tests
IG placed the next upside reference at the October 29 high of USD 81,914.83, followed by USD 84,867.18 at the October 21 high. Its short-term outlook was bullish while Bitcoin remained above the November 4 low of USD 75,649.41. Those levels frame the current Bitcoin price recovery without proving that a lasting trend change has occurred.
The rebound also followed broader market and positioning shifts, so its durability will depend on whether spot demand continues after the initial recovery. The reported Binance security incident and uncertainty around future US crypto legislation remain relevant risks, according to IG. Bitcoin.org describes Bitcoin as an open-source, peer-to-peer payment network operated without a central authority or bank, a design distinction that does not remove the substantial market volatility associated with the asset.
