- Twenty DTC participants have signed agreements to access the service, which can create tokenized representations of securities held at DTC.
- Investing.com displayed Canton at 0.09561 USD when reviewed on November 2, with a market capitalization of 3.82 billion USD.
- The launch strengthens Canton's institutional use case, but the DTCC release does not identify CC as a required settlement asset.
Canton price is in focus after a major institutional tokenization launch, but the event does not by itself establish demand for CC. The Depository Trust Company, a subsidiary of the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), launched its DTCC Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026. The service is integrated with the Canton Network and DTCC's private Besu network.
According to the DTCC press release, the service allows eligible users to mint tokenized representations of real-world assets held at DTC. These digital representations can be converted between traditional and tokenized forms and delivered to users' digital wallets. DTCC said the tokenized securities retain the ownership rights, investor protections and economic entitlements of their traditional counterparts.
What the launch changes
DTCC said 20 DTC participants had signed agreements to access the service at launch, including J.P. Morgan, Citi, Fidelity Investments, Morgan Stanley, State Street and UBS. The service was developed with input from more than 150 firms, and DTCC said additional blockchain networks are planned for 2027.
For the Canton Network, this creates a concrete connection to regulated market infrastructure and a live institutional use case. The Canton Network's announcement also dates the launch to October 28 and describes the service as a route for bringing tokenized securities into regulated financial markets.
Price and token context
Investing.com displayed CC at 0.09561 USD when reviewed on November 2, 2026. The same page showed 24-hour volume of 19.37 million USD, a market capitalization of 3.82 billion USD, a circulating supply of 39.98 billion CC and a ranking of 24. It also showed a 52-week range of 0.08700 to 0.19496 USD. These figures are a market snapshot, not a verified UTC day-close comparison.
The institutional narrative therefore needs to be separated from direct token economics. DTCC's release confirms Canton as one of the networks supporting the service, but it does not state that CC is a required settlement asset or that participating firms must buy or hold it. Canton price performance will consequently depend not only on network adoption, but also on how activity translates into demand for the token.
