- Cardano stake pool operators were urged to patch critical Linux vulnerability CVE-2026-98432.
- Delegated ADA remains in holders' wallets, but an affected pool could miss block production and staking rewards.
- ADA traded at 0.19050 USD at 17:02 UTC, 1.35% below the previous UTC close.
Cardano price remained below 0.20 USD on November 2 as a new security issue focused attention on the infrastructure supporting the network. Upside recorded ADA at 0.19050 USD at 17:02 UTC, or 18:02 Berlin time, down 1.35% from the previous UTC close of 0.19310 USD on November 1. The calculation is based on the Upside daily candle convention, which closes at 00:00 UTC.
Critical Linux flaw reaches pool operators
Intersect asked Cardano stake pool operators on October 30 to check their block producers and relays, install fixed kernels where available and reboot their systems. CryptoTicker reported that the vulnerability is tracked as CVE-2026-98432 and carries a CVSS score of 9.8 out of 10, classified as critical. No attack on Cardano pool infrastructure had been reported in the report.
The immediate investor distinction is custody. Cardano's project website describes delegation as non-custodial and liquid: delegating ada to a stake pool does not move the tokens out of the holder's wallet. A compromised pool therefore cannot directly spend delegated ADA. The operational risk is different: a pool taken offline could miss assigned blocks and reduce rewards for the current epoch.
Network utility advances separately
Cardano's development and tokenization work continues independently of the security warning. The Cardano Foundation joined Switzerland's Capital Markets and Technology Association on October 29, while CMTA recognized a reviewed CIP-0113 implementation as technically equivalent to its CMTAT framework for certifiable tokenized shares, according to DailyCoin. The recognition is limited to equity securities and does not certify every issuer or token.
What ADA holders should watch
The Cardano price snapshot remains vulnerable to broad crypto-market conditions, while the Linux issue adds a network-operational variable. The available reporting supports a potential effect on pool rewards, not a loss of delegated principal and not a proven price reaction. Investors can therefore separate two questions: whether their chosen operator patches its infrastructure, and whether ADA can regain the 0.20 USD level.
