Hoodi loses its October 26 activation
The Ethereum Foundation said on October 22, 2026, that the Glamsterdam upgrade on Hoodi had been postponed and that a new activation date had not been set, according to its protocol announcement. The earlier schedule placed the activation at 17:42:48 UTC on October 26, 2026, at epoch 132,352. The revised notice removes the planned 200 million gas limit from the testnet configuration.
Glamsterdam combines changes to how blocks are built and validated. The postponed Hoodi test was intended to examine enshrined proposer-builder separation, which embeds a division between block proposal and block construction in the protocol, and block-level access lists, which organize the state data a block may access. The Foundation said the delay allows further investigation of interactions between EIP-8037 and mainnet smart contracts. The notice also states that the change concerns Hoodi and does not set an activation date for Ethereum mainnet.
Ether ETF flows turn positive on October 21
U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded 14.9 million USD of net inflows on October 21, 2026, according to Farside Investors. A spot ETF holds the underlying asset while its shares trade on an exchange. The daily total included 28.1 million USD of inflows for the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust and 29.3 million USD of outflows from BlackRock's ETHA, while Fidelity's FETH recorded 13.0 million USD of inflows, the same data showed.
The flow mix indicates different directions among the funds on October 21, 2026: withdrawals from ETHA were offset by inflows into other products. The figures describe fund activity for that date and do not establish a cause for the current ETH price.
