PSI 20 closes up 78 points as EDP leads Lisbon

The PSI 20 closed at 9,254 points on October 27, 2026, up 78 points or 0.9 percent. Utilities, financials and basic materials led the advance, Investing.com reported.
EDP Renovaveis led the gainers with a 3.4 percent rise. CTT fell 2.0 percent after JB Capital warned that new European rules on low-value imports could cause a profit warning, Jornal Economico reported. From the 9,181-point midday level at 12:15 p.m. WET, the index added 73 points by the close.
Why did the PSI 20 rise?
EDP Renovaveis, EDP and Banco Comercial Portugues led the advance. EDP Renovaveis rose 3.4 percent, EDP gained 1.6 percent and BCP added 1.6 percent. BCP was supported by positive results from its Polish unit, according to Jornal Economico.
