Solana (SOL) spot ETFs recorded 2.6 million USD in net withdrawals on October 20, extending a period of weaker demand for U.S.-listed products. FinanceFeeds reported the figure from ETF flow data gathered by Farside Investors and CryptoETF.today. The Solana price is 101.42 USD as of October 25, 2026, down 2.12 percent compared with the UTC daily close of October 24, 2026.
Solana ETFs recorded 2.6 million USD in withdrawals
The October 20 outflow followed 6.7 million USD in redemptions on October 19, according to FinanceFeeds. ETF flow figures measure net creations and redemptions in the funds rather than direct purchases of SOL. The products therefore represent one channel of market exposure and do not cover activity on cryptocurrency exchanges or decentralized applications.
Alpenglow targets 150 milliseconds for finality
Solana activated the Alpenglow consensus upgrade at slot 459,653,000 on October 21, according to The Block. Consensus is the process validators use to agree on the next valid block. The upgrade is designed to reduce transaction finality, meaning the time until a transaction is treated as irreversible, from 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds.
Galaxy described Alpenglow's resilience model as 20 plus 20: up to 20 percent of staked SOL may act maliciously while an additional 20 percent may be offline. The same analysis compared that design with the previous TowerBFT model, which tolerated up to 33 percent of Byzantine stake. This changes the network's fault-tolerance tradeoff alongside its faster finality target.
